Local
Wildlife
The Moray Firth is a Special Area of Conservation, home to an amazing
variety of marine life. The RSPB reserve at Troup Head boasts mainland
Scotland’s only gannet colony and there are opportunities
to see thousands of seabirds including gannets, guillemots, puffins,
fulmars and kittiwakes.
Encounters
with the resident bottlenose dolphins, porpoises and
grey and common seals are possible year round. Summer
visitors to the Firth include minke whales and the occasional
basking shark!
Scenery
Fast
and manoeuvrable, Buchaneer is able to explore a large
range of this, one of Scotland's finest stretches of
coastline, with spectacular cliffs, stacks, natural arches,
caves, coves and secluded bays.

their own powerboat, North 58° is an RYA training
centre, offering courses in powerboat handling for beginners
and those with some experience.
