Gamrie Gourmet
Leaving from Banff, this
excursion combines a guided sea tour of Troup Head and beyond
to Pennan Bay and Aberdour, with a stop-over at Gardenstown and
a meal at the charming Harbour Restaurant.
Restaurant owner Fiona produces
a range of exquisite dishes from the freshest of ingredients,
some brought in daily by local fishermen. Here is a sample of
her sea-food delights:
- Pint of prawns with chilli bread and lime
mayo dip
- Hot smoked salmon salad with homemade chutney
- Pan fried monkfish with creamed mushroom
and courgette and a spicy tomato and water chestnut sauce
- Baked rock turbot with sweet potato mash
and Cajun paste
- Tuna steak on a bed of garden salad and pumpkin
seeds.
Please note that the Harbour Restaurant is closed
on Tuesdays.
A minimum of 6 passengers
required for this trip.
Gardenstown
Explorer
Experience
the thrill of a fast ride on the Buchaneer to the picturesque
and traditional
fishing communities of Gardenstown and Pennan where you can stop
for an hour or two. Visit the local galleries and eateries, have
refreshments on the quayside, or take one of Gardenstown's
lovely short walks.
Walks include a ramble around the shoreline
to the pretty village of Crovie, established as a result of highland
clearances, or take a walk up to the historical Kirk of St. John
the Evangelist which dates from 1004!
